Afternoon Tea at Miskin Manor

I bought my mum a voucher for afternoon tea at Miskin Manor for Mother’s Day this year and we only got round to using it last Monday. The country house is set in 25 acres of gorgeous grounds and gardens. It’s hidden away from the busyness of the local town and surrounded by the Welsh countryside. We got to sit in the most comfy arm chairs with a little coffee table full of all the goodies between us. Luckily we had the beautiful reception room all to ourselves and were able to have a good catch up after her holiday.

On the bottom plate we had a selection of cucumber, egg and salmon finger sandwiches. The next plate was filled with scones which were absolutely delicious topped with clotted cream and mini pots of jam. Finally there was plate full of everyone’s favourites; banoffee pies, fruit meringue and the most gooey chocolate brownies.

The staff were lovely and couldn’t be more helpful; they even let us take home the little pieces that we couldn’t quite finish off.

I am thinking of making an afternoon tea bucket list, where are your favourite places to go?
